Sunshine Coast Council

One of the fastest growing local governments in Australia, Sunshine Coast Council serves a community of around 320,000 residents across an area of approximately 2291 square kilometres.

Sunshine Coast Council has an aspirational agenda that focuses on maintaining a strong, sustainable council, investing in the services and facilities that communities need and improving the region’s liveability and vitality.

Council has delivered or is delivering a range of game changing projects such as completing Australia’s first council owned Sunshine Coast Solar Farm, building a new greenfield city centre in Maroochydore, constructing a new runway at Sunshine Coast Airport and delivering an international broadband submarine cable.

These are all helping to drive a stronger economy, generate jobs and provide access to new services for the community – helping achieve our goal of becoming Australia’s most sustainable region – healthy, smart, creative.
